Conquer-The-World Resolutions

I typically spend my birthday reflecting on the past year and determining what interests I’ll tackle for the upcoming year. This year however I was caught up in my wedding a week before my birthday then immediately began launch mode for Barenakd. I spent no time at all thinking about what I personally wanted to concentrate on for my 34th year of life. So, this year I’ve joined the crowd and made a very personal list of things that I will conquer-the-world with this year. You’ll see that I’m not one of those goal setting gals. I prefer to be open to each moment that is in front of me and grab it by the horns. I also like to shake things up fairly often. My husband explained to me this morning that I’m like a Snow Globe owner. I love the chaos of the snow falling and the music blaring. When things begin to calm down in the globe I’m ready to shake it up even harder. As always, 2010 will be another year of shaking things up:

  • I will learn more about organic gardening and start a small one of my own.
  • I’m going to shop for the perfect camera and get behind the lens more often.
  • In the spring, I will host the grand opening for BrickHouse. A place of creativity for me and an opportunity to share the importance and acceptance of movement of the female body. Classes will include a fun and sassy sensual movement class where women will learn a few strip tease dances that show off their beautiful curves, a Bilates class that focuses on building strength and muscle tone, and finally a Kettlebell classes for both male and female students. I’ve already located a great location in my local downtown that will be perfect for what I envision in my head.
  • I vow to declutter my home this year and downsize. Thanks to zenhabits.
  • Parenting is going to be at the top of my priorities this year. Spending “now” time with my son and being fully present in every moment I spend with him. Oh, and I need to work on discipline!
  • Pick up where I left off with my development work for La Casa De Mi Padre. This is the children’s home that my son lived at before we brought him home. Upon leaving El Salvador my life became a whirlwind and I let my work with them go by the wayside. This year, I will work with them to develop a interactive organization that spread their love and trust of the family to millions.
  • I will automate more of my life so that I spend less time working and more time traveling. Thanks to the ever so encouraging advice from Tim Ferris.
  • This past year has been a huge learning leap for me. I’ve learned more about who I am, what I want and don’t want, and what works best for me. In 2010 I am going to cherish what I’ve learned and spend more time expressing who I am.
  • Lastly and most importantly, I will continue to offer inspired solutions to women all over the world. My income will grow exponentially and my first task of business is to pay for a more specialized, family interactive, holistic environment for my mother who suffers with Dementia. This will enable my family to explore and experiment with diet, physical movement, and touch therapy for the betterment of her life while in the last stages of Dementia.

While some may be lofty, they are all possible. Stay tuned and I’ll share with you how I stay motivated to accomplish what’s important to me each and every year. What interest are you going to tackle this year?
